The Internet Basic Internet The internet is a system that allows you to play, listen, read, send, receive and download files. The internet is so easy to use and as I have broadband this encourages me to use the internet because I can always rely on it being fast and good quality. Many people use the internet as a means of keeping in touch; E-Mail is great because you can write to people who may be over the other side of the world. You don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home to do this. One of the greatest things about the internet is the search engines. You type in what you are looking for it will come up with a list of websites which will help you with what you want to find. How the internet works The internet is made up of networks (big and small). Networks are a group of computers that are interconnected by telephone wires (or other means) allowing the computers to share info with each other.
